The first months of 2009 has seen some new publications and documents on SEPA:-
“Making SEPA a reality – The definitive guide to the Single Euro Payments Area” is a 53-page guide for the common man to all aspects of SEPA. It is produced by the European Payments Council. It uses a series of pie charts to dramatically illustrate the differences between fundamental systems across Europe, as a way of setting out the huge challenge of harmonisation. It takes the reader through each element of SEPA products and infrastructures, the benefits for all parties, the opportunities, both now and in the future. It ends with a useful glossary of technical terms and abbreviations. Essential reading for all concerned. It can be downloaded here:-

“EPC Newsletter Issue 1 January 2009”
The publication of a regular newsletter on SEPA is long overdue. At 50 pages, this jumbo-sized edition is a series contains 18-pages of articles and opinions by bankers, corporates, and regulators, followed by a detailed update of SEPA-related news. The news section is heavy-duty stuff, and is not for the faint-hearted. One news item stands out, if only because of it’s title in bright red:- “The SEPA Direct Debit Mandate - you will just love it”. There is no accounting for tastes. It can be downloaded here:-
